The challenge

Despite its agricultural and commercial potential, Niger State's trade competitiveness was undermined by non-tariff barriers, inconsistent levies at internal checkpoints, and weak export readiness across priority value chains.

Our approach

Day 1 built institutional understanding of inter-state and regional trade facilitation, drawing on case studies from Rwanda, Ghana, and the ASEAN Single Window. Day 2 operationalised this through trade facilitation frameworks, export readiness design, and digital tools for border coordination.

What we delivered

  • A draft Niger State Trade Facilitation and Export Promotion Framework
  • A priority sector list with export readiness indicators
  • A policy and coordination map for trade-related ministries
  • A post-training summary consolidating participant commitments

Outcomes

Established the technical and institutional foundations for Niger State's trade facilitation reform, with harmonised levies, transparent fee schedules, and an actionable pipeline of export-certified firms.
